Celebrate the gift of reading with local authors, The Holiday Author Fair will feature local authors, live music, holiday crafts, and a book fair. Free. Matthew's Rise and I will be there. Think Christmas presents!
Two visits to Haughton High School! I talked to the Book Club and will be at the Haughton H S. Folk Fete on Saturday, October 19!! Matthew's Rise and I will be there. Please come to see me and the other vendors at this event to raise money for the Haughton H S Library.
I am so excited to visit with the fifth graders on Monday, September 15. Thanks to Vivian Methodist Church that bought books to hand out to all the students!!

Help for your fiction lovers! I can meet with your writer's club with suggestions on a number of different topics that would encourage them in their creative endeavors. Topics include:
I am so glad to talk to Ms. Alexis Morris's classes on April 9. We will discuss Indian trading practices as the students prepare for a trip to Poverty Point, a location mentioned in Matthew's Rise.

I will visit Karnack schools on Feb. 14 and meet with the third through the eighth grades with a book presentation and an activity.
We will be giving away copies of Matthew's Rise. Students may also purchase copies of the novel from me.

The Belcher Library will be hosting Debra Spearman, a local author, on Tuesday Nov 15th. The program is about Indian drawings and writings, pictographs. Learn how to understand and draw pictographs like the Indians. Mrs. Spearman's adventure packed book, Matthew's Rise, is about an Caddo Indian Mound near Caddo Lake.
The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators sponsors a special section each year to advertise new books. Take a look at the
